They mix raw materials into precise recipes and meled in the glass furnace. As an engineer, you will play a key role in driving innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence, working closely with multiple teams.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks:
As a Batch & Furnace Engineer, you will be part of a new production facility. Initially, you will support the installation and commissioning of machinery and the glass furnace. Once the furnace is operational, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities within the department, reporting on performance, and continuously optimizing production processes.
- You report to the Batch & Furnace Manager.
- You are involved in Production Process Management
- Analyzing production data within your department and oversee raw-material analyses performed by the laboratory and operators
- Identifying bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase operational efficiency, both within your department and across others, in cooperation with fellow engineers
- Monitoring raw material and cullet stock levels and report shortages or deviations; coordinate with procurement, supply chain, or suppliers to ensure sustainable solutions
- Setting and monitor furnace parameters and energy consumption, adjusting them to ensure sustainable and high-quality production
- Communicating deviations from the production plan to production planning together with the team leader
- Acting as the escalation point for production issues and coordinate with maintenance when needed; initiate improvement projects for recurring problems
- Performing daily checks and calibrations
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process and manage costs responsibly
- Prepare reports on furnace energy efficiency, raw materials, and production performance
- Participate in working groups and improvement projects
- Develop, implement, and update procedures and work instructions in collaboration with operators
- Continuously improve production efficiency
- Act as a key user in the implementation of production software (e.g., SAP or similar systems)
- Actively participate in meetings
Your background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering (preferred)
- Proven experience with industrial glass furnaces (container glass, flat glass, household glass, or specialty glass)
- Strong interest in learning and developing within an advanced glass-production environment
- Continuous improvement mindset and strong problem-solving abilities
- Analytical and structured working style with attention to budgets, planning, and knowledge sharing
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- Team-oriented and collaborative
